TITLE: Career & Technical Education (CTE) Instructional Specialist
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 1.0 FTE; 184day contract
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Exempt Certified
GENERAL STATEMENT of RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position acts primarily as a resource to CTE teachers and programs by providing guidance resources and professional development opportunities to ensure effective curriculum implementation and instructional excellence. This role helps teachers navigate compliance with state and federal requirements and facilitates the integration of Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) into classroom activities.
The CTE Instructional Specialist also manages ADE State Technical Assessment Registration/Testing as well as CTE Placement Data collection and submission.
In addition to teachers support this position actively promotes BUHSD and CTE programs within schools and the community fostering collaboration and engagement to emphasize the importance of career and technical education.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Teacher Support and Curriculum Development: (Evaluation & Accountability Professional Development Academic Integration)
- Collaborate with CTE teachers to develop enhance and align curriculum to meet state and industry standards.
- Collaborate with CTE teachers to create benchmark testing in Synergy.
- Integrate innovative uses of technology for teaching and learning to share with CTE Teachers
- Review and assist in developing CTE program curriculum maps and align materials to standards and support teachers in generating lesson ideas
- Provide guidance on incorporating CTSO activities into classroom instruction to enhance student engagement and skill development.
- Serve as a resource for instructional best practices and professional development opportunities.
- Prepare plan for and lead professional development for Early Release Days and Summer Curriculum PD
- Compliance Reporting and State Testing: (Evaluation and Accountability Increase Student Achievement and Skill Development Academic Integration)
- Coordinate ADE State Technical Assessment registration ensuring timely submission and accurate data entry.
- Coordinate Student Profiles and CTE Placement Data collection analysis and reporting to meet state and federal guidelines.
- Assist CTE teachers in ensuring all program materials are prepared and maintained to meet compliance requirements for state and CTED monitoring uploads.
- Program Support: (Evaluation & Accountability Increase Student Achievement)
- Assist the CTE Department in the planning organization and implementation of CTE and CTSO events and activities.
- Support CTE teachers in meeting program requirements such as certifications industry partnerships and workbased learning initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between the district state agencies and industry partners to enhance CTE program quality.
- Administrative Duties: (Skill Development)
- Maintain accurate records of assessments placement data and program documentation.
- Prepare reports and presentations for district and state review for CTE Accountability in Placement Data.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals and objectives of the CTE Department.
- Marketing and Public Relations: (Career Exploration & Development)
- Implement public relations strategies to promote BUHSD and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs highlighting accomplishments and success stories to school board members administrators faculty and the broader community. Engage with stakeholders to showcase the positive impact of CTE on student achievement workforce readiness and community growth.
- Assist in recruitment activities and events to increase awareness and enrollment in CTE programs.
- Other Professional Responsibilities:
- Is available to students and parents for educationrelated purposes or activities outside the instructional day as assigned by the administration.
- Attends site and district workshops inservices etc. to maintain proficient technical skills and continued professional growth.
- Complies with all rules regulations and policies of the Governing Board that related to the duties as prescribed.
- Agrees that during the period of the contract s/he will perform management duties or other duties as assigned by the administration or Governing Board.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Arizona Secondary Education Certificate.
- Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)
- Masters degree with Administration coursework preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona drivers license
- Minimum of three 3 years teaching experience required; five 5 years recommended; CTE high school experience preferred
- Five 5 years experience in CTE working in program coordination budget management grant writing or state reporting.
OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:
Low risk Work is routinely performed in indoor environments including exposure to noise and being on your feet for extended periods of time. May be required to travel outdoors in inclement conditions to go from building to building for meetings or classes. The employee may be required to move from room to room through corridors heavily congested with people.
