Know Your Rights: John Hospital is looking for a full time variable shift Patient Account Registrar in the Admitting Department to join our growing and dynamic staff!
The Patient Account Registrar duties include but are not limited to:
- interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics
- secure insurance information eligibility benefits and authorizations as applicable
- work closely with all facets of the Admitting Department including PBX operator function and reception areas
- must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data
- able to communicate with the population served utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal pediatrics adolescents young adults middle adult to geriatrics
- maintain proficiency in medical terminology
- special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe
- we are looking for a person with a positive attitude who has compassion and empathy for others
- willingness to learn and be ambitious and successful in your role
Full time variable shift: Thursday and Friday 645a715p and Saturday 645p715a Overnight
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- effective written and verbal communication skills
- ability to multitask and prioritize needs to meet required timelines
- analytical and problemsolving skills
- customer service experience required
- high school graduate or GED equivalent required
- insurance knowledge preferred but not required
- must be able to type
