Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

ENVIRONMENT:

For over a century our client has been helping generous individuals and the causes they care about make a lasting impact. Today they support over 30000 donors in giving more than 110 million annually to over 12000 charities community initiatives and individuals in need. Their expert services empower these partners equipping them to grow thrive and create meaningful change in the world. They are looking for an experienced Data and Insights Leader to build a new Data and Insights team that will help us make wise and datainformed strategic decisions. This newly created Head of Data and Insights role is a critical part of their organisational transformation which will put data informed decision making at the heart of their strategy and operations. The role will be responsible for building a new centralised data and insights team to serve across the organisation fostering an agile approach to data projects to deliver valuable insights and instilling a culture that values datadriven decisionmaking.

DUTIES:

Create and Lead the Data & Insights Team:

  • Start a data and insights team from the ground up recruiting and mentoring those in your care to help them to excel in their data roles.
  • Establish healthy rhythms cultures and processes to allow the team to flourish and deliver value to the organisation through their work.

Delivering data and insights projects:

  • Work closely with customerfacing and internal functional leaders to understand their challenges and opportunities delivering datadriven solutions that meet their needs.
  • Champion agile methodologies to manage data projects ensuring adaptability and responsiveness to the changing needs of the organisation.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of data handling and engineering processes. Develop robust systems for data collection storage processing and analysis.

Drive strategic impact and growth through insights and thought leadership:

  • Grow the impact monitoring and evaluation resource offered to key service areas and clients (for example grant impact reporting for their Philanthropy Fund and Donor Advisory Board clients).
  • Develop frameworks for tracking and reporting on the strategic impact of the organisation as a whole as part of their annual financial reporting.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You hold a relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience in data science data analytics or a related field.
  • You are passionate about leveraging data to drive innovation and strategic decisionmaking.
  • You have experience setting up a Data and Insights team ideally in a commercially minded environment (charity or business) and know what it is like to actively build a team and fostering a positive dynamic team culture.
  • You excel in working crossfunctionally with other teams as an ambassador for data listening to and understanding their needs and partnering with them to integrate data insights into broader business strategies.
  • You have the technical proficiency and experience to lead by example in advanced data analysis generating actionable insights and supporting complex projects.
  • You have a robust understanding of data governance ensuring data integrity privacy and compliance with a balanced approach to risk management.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of explaining and presenting complex data insights clearly and effectively to nontechnical audiences.
  • You can build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation with a friendly confident and collaborative approach.

  • You should be a motivated selfstarter able to work independently prioritising tasks. You should be comfortable working under pressure to challenging deadlines able to adapt to rapidly changing situations and workloads be well organised and able to multitask.
  • You should be willing to offer your perspective and are able to challenge constructively where required.
  • You can clearly understand and articulate the risks in a situation and are able to take a balanced view in relation to those risks
