Job Description

Library Circulation Desk Student Worker (Summer Availability Preferred)

Student workers should be prompt dependable and have a strong work ethic. Able to communicate effectively in person by text and by email. Have strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly. Must arrive on time according to the agreedupon schedule. Must be respectful to library patrons and workers. Willing to work early mornings late nights and/or weekends working around class schedule.
- This position will require working at the front desk answering phones and patron questions.
- You will checkin checkout and renew library items. There will be times of shelving books in alphabetical order. There will be times of moving books to carts to shelving and to other locations.
- Student workers will be responsible for opening and or closing the building and will be required to clear the building of all individuals.
- This requires confidence as student workers will learn and enforce library policies as necessary.
- Other work may involve moving heavy books or boxes helping visitors with general campus information helping with printing cleaning and other tasks as needed.
- Note: During the summer there will be more moving and shifting heavy books than usual.
- We prefer that you are flexible to be scheduled anytime during library opening hours.
- During the summer shifts could be scheduled anytime between 7:15am7:15pm MondayFriday. During the school year shifts could be anytime between 7:15am12:15am 7 days a week.
- Must be willing to work nights mornings and/or weekends.
- Summer availability is required.
