Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of a Children Social Worker on a 3-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 21.14 - 28.90 per hour

Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Children & Families team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality statutory social work services to children young people and their families ensuring that their welfare and needs are met in line with national legislation policy and best practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake assessments of children in need and at risk.
  • Develop and implement care plans to ensure safety stability and positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to safeguard children and support families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with council and legal requirements.
  • Represent the department at meetings reviews and court proceedings where necessary.

Essential Requirements:

  • Car owner/driver with a full UK driving licence (essential for visiting clients across the district).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Social Work qualification (e.g. Degree or Diploma in Social Work).
  • Strong understanding of child protection safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a complex caseload.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in a statutory childrens services role.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment handling complex cases.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
