Civil Project Engineer 3

GAI Consultants has a careerbuilding opportunity for a Project Civil Engineer 3 within our Power Business Units Civil and Environmental Engineering Business Sector. GAI is an established and growing multidiscipline engineering firm with tremendous growth opportunities in the MidAtlantic region. This position is eligible for GAIs flexible Hybrid or Remote workplace place/Telework Policy. This position will be based out of GAIs Pittsburgh PA offices. GAIs Power Business Unit focuses on developing and supporting Energy Institutional Industrial and Manufacturing clients.

Job Duties:

• Plans designs and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks such as site grading and drainage design; access road design; erosion and sediment pollution control design; stormwater management design; report preparation; and permitting.
• Performs technical and feasibility studies.
• Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with team members.
• Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
• Ensures that work products meet client environmental and safety requirements.
• Performs work with minimal guidance and supervision.
• Handles complex issues and refers only the most complex issues to more experienced staff.
• Possesses strong working knowledge of civil engineering design tasks and a positive attitude.
• Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules.
• Performs moderate to complex civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to staff with less experience.
• Mentor guide and check the work of less experienced staff.
• Strong team collaboration oral and written communication design expertise and problemsolving skills are required.
• Adhere to the safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients.

Travel Requirements:

• 10; travel to client sites field visits and GAI Offices

Minimum Years of Experience

• 14 Years of Experience

Education

• B.S. or M.S. Engineering

Certification/Licensure

• Professional Engineer (P.E. License reciprocity in multiple states.
• Drivers License

Technical Responsibilities

• Predominantly serves as the technical advisor in the application of advanced concepts and methods in an assigned area.
• Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the practice for the purpose of recommending changes in projects or applications.
• Predominantly develops new techniques and/or improved processes materials or products.

Project and Task Management

• Oversees a project team of engineers and technicians.
• Plans schedules and coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects.
• Analyzes project management plans for complex engineering projects.
• Understands project delivery uncertainties and uses risk management principles to address them.
• Reviews operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.

Management Responsibility

• Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
• Mentors senior staff.
• Integrates professional attitudes relevant to the practice of engineering and fosters creativity curiosity flexibility and dependability in staff.

Communication Skills

• Applies principles of formal strategic and persuasive communications.
• Represents their area of specialty within the organization and liaises with related individuals and organizations.
• Routinely interacts with organizational leaders clients officials contractors and others.
• Integrates concepts of effective teamwork and leadership.
