Job Description

OBJECTIVE:

Technology Support is a position hired by AAMA to oversee and maintain its computer hardware and software systems. Their skills are a valuable asset to the school as they assist in resolving technical issues related to the schools computers and software. This position involves installing and configuring software and computer systems as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues with software or hardware. You may be called upon to assist faculty or staff in resolving technical issues with their computers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Implement a plan for repairing or replacing computers and other forms of technology.
  • Provides technical support identifying investigating and resolving users problems with software/hardware.
  • Collaborate with other employees to research and resolve computerrelated issues.
  • Displays the ability to program computers and software eectively.
  • Understands basic computer components and has the skills necessary to repair or replace as needed.
  • Shows knowledge of inventory control to ensure that necessary parts are available.
  • Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.
  • Set up and congure new equipment for the school.
  • Diagnoses issues when computers or other technologies are not working as they should.
  • Perform routine maintenance on computer and network systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

  • To take precautions to protect equipment materials and facilities.
  • To participate responsibly in the schools improvement initiatives.

  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about school personnel.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in network management and help desk support.
  • Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to maintain an accurate inventory of computer equipment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION CERTIFICATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Associate degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelors degree in information technology or computer science.
  • Preferred: Support Technician Certification.
  • Required: Valid drivers license.
