Job Description
Clinical Microbiology Laboratory Manager
A leading healthcare laboratory organization seeks an experienced Clinical Microbiology Laboratory Manager to lead our stateoftheart microbiology department. In this role youll provide strategic leadership and technical expertise while ensuring exceptional quality standards and patient care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and optimize daily microbiology laboratory operations ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards
- Lead and develop a team of laboratory professionals through mentoring training and performance management
- Drive operational excellence through resource optimization budget management and workflow improvements
- Collaborate with regional leadership to achieve departmental goals in quality service delivery and financial performance
- Oversee quality control programs and maintain regulatory compliance (CAP CLIA Joint Commission)
- Manage laboratory information systems and implement technological advancements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers and stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
- Current ASCP AMT or equivalent certification in Medical Laboratory Science
- 35 years of management experience in a highvolume clinical microbiology setting
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Excellent leadership communication and problemsolving skills
- Experience with laboratory information systems and quality management programs
