Job Description
Position Title: School Support Personnel 68 Lunch Monitor
Reports to: Building Principal or designee
FLSA: NonExempt
Terms of Employment: Staff 10 months Class C according to the LEA Unit D collective bargaining agreement.
Immediate Start Date. Salary Range: $25.94 $33.19 per hour. Nonbenefits eligible position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various type of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar related or a logical assignment to the position.
- Provides cafeteria coverage
- Ensures student safety and appropriate behavior
- Cleans tables between lunch periods
- Provide office coverage when office staff take their lunch breaks or as needed
- Provide classroom coverage when necessary
- Assist teachers in preparation of class materials
- Perform copying and laminating
- Answer phones make phone calls
- May greet visitors
- Perform a variety of related duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in administrative clerical financial or secretarial work preferably in a school environment working with children; or any equivalent combination of education training certification and experience.
Must have knowledge of office management principles and practices and computer systems word processing and photocopying. Knowledge of child development.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with the public officials and department personnel; ability to work independently in an efficient manner; ability to communicate effectively; ability to maintain a record keeping systems; ability to operate a telephone and standard office equipment; ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner; ability to deal tactfully with disgruntled people.
Skill in operating computers and applicable word processing; excellent customer service skills. Must have skill in dealing with children.
