The Role: At Morningstar our mission to help investors drives us every day. We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our International Wealth Platform team. In this role you will leverage your technical expertise to develop and enhance automation frameworks ensure the quality of financial applications and contribute to delivering exceptional products.
As a key team member you will work closely with crossfunctional teams to implement automation strategies improve test coverage and ensure seamless integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully in an Agile environment while building a strong foundation in automation testing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain robustUI automation frameworkswith tools likeNightwatch CypressIO WebdriverIO andPlaywright.
Contribute to building and enhancing automation frameworks ensuring they are reusable and maintainable.
PerformAPI testing (manual and automation)usingJava RestAssured library.
LeverageJavaScript/TypeScript librarieslikeJQuery / Angularto enhance testing capabilities.
Proficient in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript as programming languages.
Collaborate with product managers developers and other QA team members to design test strategies and automation plans.
Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines ensuring seamless quality checks across the software lifecycle.
Conduct manual and automated testing for both UI and APIs to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including standups sprint planning and retrospectives contributing to team alignment and delivery.
Document and report test results defects and progress to stakeholders effectively.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field.
Overall experience of 34 years in Quality Assurance and Testing with relevant 2 years hands on experience in Automation.
Proficient in automation tools like Nightwatch CypressIO WebdriverIO or Playwright.
Strong knowledge of JavaScript TypeScript or Java programming languages.
Experience in developing or enhancing test automation frameworks.
Familiarity with API testing (manual and automated).
Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and TestRail.
Strong problemsolving skills and a selfdriven mindset.
