This is a unique opportunity to lead a new People Advisor function from Dolbys San Francisco headquarters. This global team will be responsible for coaching and advising employees and managers on a wide range of complex employee relations matters including workplace investigations performance management conflict resolution and policy adherence. The successful candidate will be both strategic and handson in approach able to: manage a small team of experienced professionals and oversee a wide range of cases drive programs that mitigate employment risks and directly manage complex matters.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: You will provide thought leadership for how the company maintains and enhances a culture that is safe fair and respectful
- Develops and refines a framework for the People Advisor function including strategies to continuously improve case management and employee relations activities.
- Collaborates with HR leaders and business partners to align on business and industry trends and work together in enabling a positive and productive work environment.
- Provide effective leadership and development to a global team of People Advisor Managers and Specialists including employee relations and employment policy subject matter experts.
- Balances mitigating employment risks and fostering a positive employee experience using company policies training and education and values and leadership principles; assesses employment risk in coordination with HR leadership and Legal based on domestic and international regulatory landscapes.
- Collects analyzes interprets and makes recommendations based on case management data.
Case Management: You will be adept at navigating and resolving highcomplexity workplace issues
- Assesses diagnoses and coaches managers and employees through complex employee relations matters including workplace investigations performance management conflict resolution professional development reasonable accommodations and policy exceptions.
- Creates guidelines best practices and trainings to educate employees managers and other members of HR on how to mitigate and properly address and resolve behavioral issues in the workplace.
- Interprets and applies understanding of corporate policies and practices employment law and other regulations to provide advice and guidance on employee relations matters.
- Partners with HR Operations team on ensuring smooth triage and escalation of matters.
- Leads investigations on employee relations matters in partnership with Legal and other compliance teams.
- Maintains and advances an organized case management system including key metrics reports and dashboards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with preference for MBA JD or other advanced degree/certification.
- Minimum of 8 years of exemptlevel employee relations or employment law compliance experience preferably in a global technology company.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience leading an employee relations group or related leadership experience preferably with a global scope.
- Strong ability to think strategically and creatively about programs processes people and risk.
- Broad knowledge of labor regulations policies and best practices in global HR management.
- Exemplary written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to successfully operate in a sometimesambiguous work environment.
- Experience in designing and delivering successful training and education programs.
- Strong ability to be a coach mentor advise and partner with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
- Expert knowledge of employee relations including performance management investigations reasonable accommodations and conflict resolution.
- Deep understanding of federal and state employment laws; international experience is a plus.
- Strong project and time management skills with ability to multitask and manage multiple projects to closure.
- Able to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner.
- Highly analytical thinker who uses good reasoning and sound judgement to make well informed decisions.
- Significant and demonstrated professional experience as a highly effective people manager.
- Ability to maintain a regular and inperson presence in our San Francisco office some international travel will be required.
