TITLE: INSTRUCTOR I EDUCATIONAL TASK LEAD
CONTRACT PERIOD: Academic year 9 months August 16 May 15
PROGRAM: MICROCREDENTIAL CERTIFICATE

Montana Tech is seeking an entrylevel nontenured instructional task lead for creation conversion and/or delivery of a microcredential program in extractive engineering disciplines environmental metallurgical mining and geological engineering.This is a three year grantfunded position to support a new microcredential certificate program funded by DPA cooperative agreement.

DUTIES:
Deliver online course work at advanced undergraduate / graduate level for grantfunded certificate program in extractive engineering disciplines including environmental metallurgical mining and/or geological engineering
Work as an interface between departmental subject matter experts instructional designers and others on the project team to create and convert technical content for the certificate program at the advanced undergraduate / graduate level
Work in a multidisciplinary setting
Incorporate national best practices for online asynchronous delivery working collaboratively with instructional designers to incorporate regular substantive interactions
Provide initial quality review of curriculum to align with university quality standards and federal requirements for online asynchronous delivery
- MS degree in STEM discipline relevant to subject matter (e.g. mining geological metallurgical materials environmental or related field)
- Experience in oral and written communication in a technical field
- PhD degree in STEM discipline
- Experience as a lecturer instructor or graduate teaching assistant in higher education or a lecture/presenter in a professional developmentworkshop or program
- Experience teaching STEM courses in a university setting or training modules in an industrial setting
- Experience delivering online STEM courses
- Understanding of national best practices for online asynchronous educational delivery
- Experience in teaching adult professional or nontraditional learners
