Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in partnership with Seattle Childrens Hospital is seeking to appoint two physicians to fill the position as a fulltime Assistant Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding Associate Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding) or full Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding on the ClinicianScholar Faculty pathway commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Associate and full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.

The base salary range for this position will be:Assistant Professors MD $13641 $20461 per month $163692 $245532 annually) Associate Professors MD $16487 $24730 per month $197844 $296760 annually) Professors MD $19820 $29729 per month $237840 $356748 annually)commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Childrens University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).

Duties will include providing inpatient and outpatient clinical care including the use of flexible bronchoscopy research and teaching as well as active participation in Divisional and Departmental activities. There is opportunity and support for academic growth and career development leadership and educational endeavors at all levels. The Division focuses on equity quality of care continuous process improvement safety clinical standardization education research and academic success. Diversity and inclusion are priorities for the Division.

The candidate will conduct clinical research or engage in scholarly activity in an area of pulmonary medicine dealing with chronic conditions with health equity in mind. The research focus will align with the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Seattle Childrens Hospital and the candidate will interact with medical students residents and pulmonary fellows in training.

Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is a fulltime appointment.

Anticipated start date is SummerFall 2025.



This position requires an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Must be Board certified or Board eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine and have completed a US accredited pediatric pulmonary fellowship program. Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonU.S. medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
