Job Description

PERMANENT FRENCH TEACHERS

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 30000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

The Board conducts intentional recruitment and selection as it seeks to achieve a state of greater equity for employees and students and to diversify its workforce.

Qualifications

  • We invite applicants that meetONE of the following criteria:
    • Qualified Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Educators in Good Standing
    • New Faculty of Education Graduate from 2023 and you are awaiting your OCT Number
    • New Faculty of Education Graduate that will be graduating in 2024
    • Internationally Trained educators who have achieved their Ontario College of Teacher accreditation
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession and the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession
  • Proficient knowledge & understanding of Ontario curriculum evaluation & assessment techniques
  • Current in understanding of research integrating technology and best instructional practices
  • Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a welcoming and safe Catholic learning environment for all student

  • Cover letter and resume
  • FSL qualifications
  • Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification (OCT Number) if applicable
  • Most Recent Teacher Performance Appraisal (if available)
  • Practice teaching reports
  • University transcripts (including postgraduate if available)
  • Two professional references:
    • Employed by a School Board on a contract position within the last 24 months one reference must be the mostrecent immediate supervisor.
    • Faculty of Education student within the last 12 months and not been employed by a School Board on a contract position one reference must be a Faculty of Education Advisor or Associate Teacher.
    • Returning to a teaching from a leave greater than 24 months professional and/or academic references or alternative may be personal character references.
