Job Summary:
Radiation therapists work with radiation oncologists nurses and medical physiciststo treat cancer patients of all ages from infants to the elderly. Typical tasks and duties include:
- Carrying out the treatment prescribed by radiation oncologists
- Managing the radiation therapy department
- Administering radiation treatments to patients with cancer and other diseases
- Determining the exact location of the area needing treatment
- Using the radiation machine to treat the patient
- Monitoring patients for unusual reactions
- Maintaining machines to ensure safety
