Job Description
Position : Business Development Intern
Location : Covington GA
Duration : 3 Months Contract
Total Hours/week : 40.00
1st shift
Description:
- Developmental position for growth into strategic marketing. Generates and executes plans and programs under the supervision of the Business Development Manager.
- Contributes to opportunity assessments in conjunction with Marketing and R&D teams to gain expertise in strategic planning and new product development.
- Assists with necessary target screening and due diligence work potentially leading to full business cases on growth opportunities identified.
- Helps complete approved assessments and full business case presentations for review by senior management.
- The Intern may be assigned additional projects involving new market assessment and business plan development upon demonstrated success with the existing duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes business and clinical information in order to assess the attractiveness of new markets
- Research and analyze sales trends and forecast potential sales volume
- Construct market models and forecasts for New Product Development (NPD) and New Business Development efforts
- Collaborate with NPD and assess technology solutions to market needs
- Contribute to the NPD process by providing appropriate input on value proposition product design claim strategy customer needs

- Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills and proficiency in the use of Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint and Access
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting using Excel
- Good technical knowledge of medical device marketplace composition drivers and trends
- Innovative thinking and technology aptitude
- Strong interpersonal skills required in the areas of verbal and written communications customer focus professionalism coaching and team building

Education / Experience:
- Pursuing Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering marketing or finance
- Some healthcare experience/exposure preferred
- Experience analyzing business opportunities
Language Skills:
- Full written and verbal command of the English language
- Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers
Mathematical Skills:
- Collegelevel math skills required
- Working knowledge of statistics necessary and some understanding of regression analysis preferred
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong problemsolving skills required
- Conceptual thinker preferred
- Demonstrated analytical skills necessary
Physical Demands:
- Employee may be required to sit bend stoop use keyboard see talk and hear. May occasionally lift objects of 10 to 25 lbs
