Enbridge is looking for a Wind Turbine Technician I to join our team! This role is responsible for the safe operations and maintenance of the turbines and Balance of Plant at New Creek.

This position will perform assigned scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting of the wind turbines with the support of senior technicians with a goal of improving uptime and production.

What You Will Do:

  • Adhere to Enbridge safety standards procedures and ensure a positive safety culture.

  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with safe work practices including electrical safety at heights control of hazardous energy confined space and cargo management.

  • Demonstrate integrity strong initiative work ethic as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.

  • As an entry level technician you will participate in maintenance of wind turbines through assigned tasks.

  • Apply SCADA to support required work.

  • Support in identifying risks and gaps in task in the operational environment of a Wind Turbine facility and apply mitigation methods with appropriate oversight.

Who You Are:

  • You possess a High School Diploma

  • As a Level I technician you will have minimal work experience related to wind turbines. Electrical Mechanical and HVAC background preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of Scheduled / Standard work and with Troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of High Voltage Electrical Switching.

  • Ability to understand wind power related systems including pneumatics hydraulics gearboxes electrical mechanical and power plant systems.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows programs Wind Turbine SCADA Systems Turbine Software Uploading Maintenance Management Programs (Maximo) preferred.

  • Ability to successfully participate in all training courses such as first aid CPR and AED climb and rescue training and confined space training.

Working Conditions:

Although / the incumbent will be assigned to New Creek location in particular the technician may be called to travel to other Enbridge facilities as needed.

Role requires a valid Drivers License which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire and ability to obtain a Passport.

Role will require being oncall 24/7 to respond to emergencies and/or maintenance needs of the site (on a predetermined scheduled basis).

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Balancing bending and stooping climbing crawling carrying (up to 50 pounds) grasping kneeling lifting (objects 50 pounds) pulling hand over hand pushing reaching above shoulder repetitive motion sitting standing walking visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement.

Must meet requirements of fit for work which includes but is not limited to demonstrating hand arm back and leg coordination needed to ascend and descend a wind tower and complying with a weight restriction of 132 kg (or 290lb) total climbing weight. Comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights of 300 ft. Employee understands that these requirements may be modified at the Companys discretion.

Pay scale range $23 to $33 based on experience and education.
