Job Duties
Under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) the Behavior Technician (BT) provides clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children with autism and related developmental disabilities. A registered behavior technician supports and implements a patient care plan and provide ABA interventions that encourage socially acceptable replacement behaviors so patients can build and improve upon their communication social interaction and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to provide positive statements to individuals served.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to provide oral and written instructions.
Ability to implement basic behavioral principles.
Proficiency working with individuals with all levels of intellectual disability to include severe and profound and with individuals who have significant impairment related to symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or developmental abilities.
Ability to mentor coach and support multidisciplinary team to implement behavioral strategies.
Ability to build rapport and helping relationships with Center staff and patients alike.
Additional Considerations
Current RBT credential preferred.
Must complete agency-approved training program for placement into a position and acquire Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) within 60 days of employment. Must remain in compliance with BACB requirements and renew certification yearly.
