Background
PervasID designs and supplies bestinclass passive RFID fixed reader systems enabling our customers to better track their inventory and optimise their asset management. Based on proprietary technology developed by our founders at Cambridge University our RFID readers have far greater accuracyrangeand speed than any other RFID readers on the market.
We are growing fast and are backed by leading strategic investors such as Stanley Black & DeckerandProsegur. We have ambitious plans to continue our growth and become the global market leader. To drive this growth the company is seeking to engage aPreSales Engineer /Technical ProjectManager. You will be a key member ofthe teammanaging customer engagement withPervasIDs product to helpusachieve financial growth throughdemonstrating andimproving onourmarket leading product performance.This role will report toDirector of Technical PreSales Engineering.
Job Description
The primary rolewithin the teamisplanning and management of customer trialspilotsand demonstrationsin support of thecompanysBusiness Developmentobjectives.This includesintroducing the system to the customerplanning thephysicallayoutat a customer sitesupportingthe customers deployment and integration with the systemoptimising the systemsongoingperformanceandultimately communicating this performancethrough detailedanalysis of theresults.
You will also be working closely withbothourEngineeringand Customer Experienceteams toensure theproduct performanceand functionalitymeets the customersrequirements and investigate methods of system optimisationin customer applications both in lab andcustomer environments.
Youwill be selfmotivatedproactiveand have a desire totake ownership ofspecificproblems anddevelopyourowntask plan toinvestigate andresolve them.
Responsibilities
Work at all levels of thepilot/trialprocess including:
- Working withcustomers to understand their application requirements
- Responsibility for theplanning oftrialspilotsanddemonstrations to meet customer requirements
- On and off site customer support deployment and testing
- Providing an interface between the Engineering team and the customer whenapplication/middlewaresoftwareintegration is required
- Configuration operation and optimisation of PervasID and 3rdparty equipment within both lab and customer environments
- Analysing the data fromtrials and pilots and presenting the results to customers
RequiredTechnicalSkills
- Degree or equivalent preferablyina computing orscientificdiscipline
- Early career experience in software development
- Minimum of5years experience working in a commercial product environment
- Demonstrable skills in project management within a technical and fieldbased product installation environment
- Practical knowledge and experience of data analysis
Other Useful Skills
- Understanding of RF systems (e.g. transmitters receivers antennas and propagation)
- Set up configure and PervasID RFID reader systems in customer environments (eg VM in cloud or onpremises)
- Understanding of IP network
- Desire to learn and understand in customer system architecture

- Excellentinterpersonalcommunications especially in a customerfacing environment
- Awillingness to travel
- Handson approach
- Willingness to work with other areas ofthebusinessincludingwithtechnicalstaffshould need arise
This is a fulltime position and will require frequent travel to customer sites.
