Introduction to project management. Project life cycle management overview (initiation planning monitoring and control and closure). Basic project management concepts approaches methods tools and techniques. Topics covered include: identifying project needs and objectives; aligning projects with organizational strategy; managing stakeholder expectations; writing the project charter and the project plan; delivering projects; monitoring and control; understanding and measuring project success delivering longterm and sustainable impacts.

Mondays May 5 to July 21 & Wednesdays May 7 21 from 7:00 to 10:00pm

Requirements:

Must have a Masters degree (PhD preferred) in an area directly related to the course and must demonstrate recent relevant experience in the area of the course; or a Canadian baccalaureate degree or its international equivalent with a professional designation (including but not limited to: CPA CFA PMI CMC CHRP CHE) with substantial managerial or professional training and experience (normally 5 years) provided there is strong evidence of management and leadership responsibilities and career progression; or exceptionally pending approval by a Program Director substantial managerial or professional training and experience (normally 10 years) provided there is strong evidence of management and leadership responsibilities and career progression.

Preference will be given to candidates with PMP Prince2 or who can demonstrate equivalent experience.
