POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will provide instruction for the Computer Science Game Design Internet of Things Cloud Computing and Web & Digital Communications Programming pathways. Courses in these pathways are designed for high school students to enable them to understand communicate and adapt to a digital world as it impacts their personal life society and the business world.
Exposure to foundational knowledge in hardware software programming web design IT support and networks are all taught in a computer lab with handson activities and projectfocused tasks. Students will not only understand the concepts but apply their knowledge to
situations and defend their actions/decisions/choices through the knowledge and skills acquired in this course. Employability skills are integrated into activities tasks and projects throughout the course the standards to demonstrate the skills required by business and industry. This position reports to the Principal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates/coordinates a rigorous Computer Science curriculum with careerrelated instruction. Assesses and provides differentiation to assure student progress. Integrates core content academics and embeds high quality literature experiences and projectbased learning assignments. Manages and maintains programs assigned equipment software and supplies.
Administers developmental testing programs subjectspecific formative/summative assessments and industryrecognized technical skill assessments to evaluate students industry certification competency levels attainment and/or the monitoring and development of individuallearning growth and student progress towards achieving Individual Graduation Plans (IGP) goals.
Sponsors/infuses cocurricular Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and/or Technology Student Association (TSA) career tech student organizational (CTSO) experiences for the purpose of leadership development advanced technical skills attainment workforce readiness preparation and college careerreadiness.
Maintains professional development competence through ongoing educational and professional development training as required for certification.
Establishes and maintains industry and postsecondary connections to promote/encourage student participation in continuing education opportunities.
Engages conducts and documents minutes of the local school CTAE Advisory Committee for the curriculums careerrelated activities support.
All other duties as assigned and required in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
Minimum of one 1 year of teaching experience in the field preferred.
Certification:
Computer Science endorsement is preferred or must be obtained within the first two years of employment.
Makes recommendations or decisions which usually affect the entire department/school.
Requires regular frequent contact with internal stakeholders and decisionmaking responsibility. Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Requires regular frequent contact with parents state and community leaders and decisionmaking responsibility. Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Normal classroom/school setting.
Will require travel for offsite training and student exposure opportunities.
Light duty On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting standing or stooping.Light lifting or carrying; twenty 20 lbs. or less; routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
