Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician for the Companys Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for field support in Jacksonville airspace. This is a support level position requiring a thorough knowledge of theinstallation maintenance and repair of telecommunications related systems and/or equipment gained through formal education or fromconsiderable and varied experience in working with the installationservice activation maintenance and repair of telecommunication systemsand devices.
Essential Functions:
- Responsiblefor the installation repair configuration test and preventativemaintenance of network equipment telecommunications equipment and/or computers.
- Performbasic software troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Serveas the point of contact for unresolved problems from the Help Desk or NOC.
- Installhardware and software including operating system and office applications
- Responsiblefor providing computer hardware software and network technical support to endusers
- Assists with setup and configuration of system hardware and software.
- other T1/DS3 Test sets.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years postSecondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Must be willing to travel (up to 100 of the time) to remote sites within a 3hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to traveloutside of their assigned region as needed.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Abilityto work from home in an oncall status.
- Musthave the ability to obtain and maintain active DOD Secret Clearance
- Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement such as RJ11 RJ45 DB25 V.35 RS449
- Havean excellent working knowledge of fiber working knowledge of MultiplexesNetwork topology Frame Relay Fractional T1 SONET Network TechnologyATM Private Line Voice and Data applications
- Goodworking knowledge of power testing AD and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC powersupplies.
- Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications DS3Testing Digital Testing (BERT) and Analog VG Testing within Bell CoreStandards.
- Workingknowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HSTAmeritech AM5XT Sage 935 Digital Oscilloscope Halcyon 704A Parascopeor other T1/DS3 Test sets.
- Proficientin Microsoft or UNIX operating systems and the components of the MSOffice Suite. Maintains records on repairs down time changes andupdates.
- Possessand maintain a valid Drivers License and a satisfactory driving recordas conditions of initial (and continued) employment.

- Capableof lifting 70 pounds
