About the Y Northern Territory (Y NT):

At the Y NT we are dedicated to helping children young people and communities thrive. Whether through our Early Learning Centres Outside Hours School Care Recreation Centres Aquatic facilities Youth Programs Remote Pools program or Hostel we are committed to supporting Territorians in becoming connected educated resilient and healthy.

The Opportunity:

The Y NT is seeking an experienced Centre Director to fill a 6month maternity position at one of our Early Learning Centres located in Jingili the service is a 59 place Long Day Care centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the daytoday operations ensuring a seamless and efficient environment for all members and staff.
  • Financial Leadership: Manage financial planning payroll budgeting and reporting to ensure the centres financial health and growth.
  • Team Management: Lead inspire and develop a highperforming team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and programs.
  • Risk Management: Implement and oversee risk management strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Program Delivery: Design and deliver innovative programs for children that encapsulate social emotional and developmental needs of our diverse community.
  • Project Planning: Be involved in the development of both longterm and shortterm projects for the successful operation of the facility including program development and strategies for longterm success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop engage and collaborate to improve local relationships while identifying partnerships programs and events that may benefit the community and the Y.
  • Fostering Inclusiveness: Maintain a clean welcoming and open environment for all members of staff and the community.
  • Training: Assist the Y NT Children services senior management in developing coordinating and implementing marketing plans designed to maintain and increase existing business and capture new opportunities within the Centre.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Early Childhood diploma qualification or above.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Centre Director.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012 and CPR.

Mandatory Requirements:

YMCA including its Boards of Directors are committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement including but not limited to:

  • Valid Working with Children Clearance.
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.
