Job Description

JOB TITLE: Asset Management Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Public Works & Transportation
DIVISION: Public Works Administration
SALARY: Negotiable
CLOSING DATE: Until filled

Job Summary/Scope
Oversees the departments asset and work management programs and ensures the accurate collection and reporting of infrastructure asset data including training on each system report generation and analysis of data for management decision making. This position plays a key role in managing infrastructure data spatial analysis and asset tracking through ArcGIS Software AutoCAD Civil 3D and OpenGov/Cartegraph. This role supports planning operations and maintenance efforts by ensuring accurate and efficient data integration for asset lifecycle management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate detailed reports maps and dashboards in support of City departments.
  • Utilize OpenGov/Cartegraph to track analyze and optimize asset management processes ensuring effective resource allocation and maintenance scheduling.
  • Liaison with Information Technology staff with coordinating software updates training customization of application modules storage of department data developing reports and other technical needs and issues.
  • Facilitates meetings of the departments ongoing asset management committee and keeps senior leadership informed of the status of meeting infrastructure asset goals.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on GIS AutoCAD and asset management software applications.
  • Any other duties as required by the supervisor. Performs any additional duties as required during emergency and/or incident operations.
  • Conducts trips to the field to inspect city assets works with other Public Works divisions to input data management and assets into each perspective program.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required (Essential) Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with ArcGIS Software (ArcMap ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Online) for data visualization and spatial analysis.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D for engineering drawings and infrastructure modeling.
  • Experience with OpenGov/Cartegraph for asset tracking maintenance scheduling and reporting.
  • Develop and present reports training and informational presentations to staff as well as members of the public.
  • Ability to collect and organize field data; train and verify the work of others; create training guides.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers from field workers to governmental and industrial officials consulting engineers and the public.
  • Ability to acquire basic knowledge of applicable federal state and local laws and regulations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Valid Drivers License required.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used
Uses a wide range of materials and office equipment such as computer with various software applications printers and copiers. Also uses a wide range of tools when conducting asset gathering in the field. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.

Working Environment/Physical Requirement
Work is performed in an office setting with a controlled environment. Required to perform field visits in a wide range of weather conditions. Must be able to routinely lift objects weighing up to thirty pounds occasionally lift objects weighing 50 pounds with assistance. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.

Education
Associates degree in GIS/AUTOCAD or related field preferred.
Minor in GIS/AUTOCAD/Program Management or related field preferred.
Bachelors Degree in GIS/AUTOCAD/Program Management or related field preferred.

Passing of a drug screening required prior to appointment.
