Why Your Role Matters
The Industry Partner plays a key role within the Pro ViceChancellor Student Success portfolio in managing and securing scholarship funding for the Technology and Data Science streams of the Coop Scholarship Program. The role will promote and drive the UNSW Coop Program to industry managing scholar/sponsor partnerships securing sponsorship places conducting annual reviews with and reporting to sponsors primarily in the area of Technology and Data Science. A key part of this role also is to contribute to identifying new opportunities and the development of plans to expand and grow the Coop Program. In addition this role will be actively involved in running Coop Professional Development Programs including the and other skillsbased workshops with current and future students as well as sponsors.
The role works closely with the Manager Industry Partnerships reports to the Head Coop and has no direct reports.
Main responsibilities Summary
- Maintain and develop the network of industry contacts and sponsors and be actively involved in the promotion of UNSW Coop programs with industry
- Demonstrate and build sufficient understanding and appreciation of the needs trends and challenges of the industry sectors covered to make an ongoing strategic contribution to the review of the Program in those sectors to expand coverage relationships and scholarship numbers
- Develop and maintain positive and productive partnerships with the Coop Program sponsor pool
- Work with the Coop Academic Coordinators across the relevant program streams/faculties supporting all student allocations and attending scholar endofplacement presentations and managing general student issues for the relevant program streams.
- Support the Manager Coop Internships in the selection and appointment of interns
- Conduct sponsor reviews and prepare and write reports as required by sponsor companies for example graduate recruitment stories and statistics
- Actively contribute to the optimisation of Professional Development Program (PDP) workshops and events
- Initiate and manage a wider range of the Coops key processes for example the Coop Exit Surveys Graduate Recruitment events and other activities
- Maintain current and accurate records relevant information and business activities on the database and website
Who You Are
We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSWs vision and values who is highly energised by building relationships with excellent interpersonal influencing and communication skills. Wed love you to come equipped with:
- Demonstrated business experience of industry employment needs with an understanding of the Graduate Recruitment process. You could currently be working in pipeline recruitment or have experience in industry with managing graduates or interns
- Exposure to and experience in the Technology and/or Data Science industry would be highly regarded
- A flexible cando attitude: we are a small team so we are looking for people who are happy to be flexible and collaborate across a range of projects as needed
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations prepare business reviews and reports
- Advanced organisational and time management skills accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager would be advantageous
- Experience with an Internship Management platform would also be advantageous
Working hours are Monday to Friday business hours with some evening events and initiatives. Whilst there is some flexibility to work from home from time to time the team is studentfacing so has a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
Sponsorship is not available for this role. Candidates will need full ongoing working rights.
