Description:
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy the Associate Director will have a direct impact on the strategic evolution of the company. This individual will support the conceptualizing qualifying and executing key initiatives consistent with Ardelyxs longrange strategic plan.
Additionally this individual will take a partnership role in assessing strategic opportunities for growth and investment in existing and new TAs territories and other significant areas of strategic potential identified for Ardelyx. They will work closely with Ardelyxs executive leadership team as well as the crossfunctional teams within the organization.
The Associate Director will play a key role in sourcing business/corporate development opportunities collaborating with crossfunctional teams to assess and conduct due diligence and supporting the of M&A and licensing transactions. To be successful in this role you must be passionate about making a difference for patients possess excellent project management and communication skills have the passion to challenge the status quo and be able to think strategically and creatively.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an internal expert in identifying evaluating and prioritizing M&A and licensing opportunities
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to conduct diligence and compile comprehensive business case materials to inform decisionmaking
- Oversee quantitative and qualitative analyses to support M&A and licensing transactions and core strategic priorities
- Manage the pipeline of opportunities track catalysts and follow up with coordination of crossfunctional evaluations when necessary
- Identify evaluate and build external relationships within the biotech/pharma ecosystem actively sourcing ideas and attending partnering conferences
- Monitor and communicate market/industry trends to inform strategy development
Qualifications:- Bachelors degree with 8 years of related experience in the biopharma industry including 57 years of progressive deal experience with a successful track record of supporting innovative companies to significant growth
- Advanced degree (PhD MBA MD or equivalent) preferred but not a must
- Strong quantitative and analytical due diligence skills; experience in deal process modeling negotiation and is crucial
- Strategic skills with initiative emotional intelligence and interpersonal capabilities to achieve transformative change
- Highly articulate and fluid communicator in both individual and group settings
- Ability to work collaboratively with highly competent scientific and commercial teams
- Ability to influence a broad range of constituents both scientific and businessoriented internally and externally
Location:
- Waltham MA officebased hybrid position
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this fulltime position is $176000$215000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including years of relevant experience training qualifications and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards subject to eligibility and other requirements.
