Job Description
The Library Director provides strategic leadership for the JayRollins Library aligning its services with the Universitys academic mission and student success initiatives. This role oversees library personnel budget collections digital resources and community partnerships. The Director leads innovation in library services champions welcoming learning spaces and cultivates a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.This is a key leadership role in McMurrys efforts to support student learning faculty scholarship and institutional innovation. The successful candidate will be a dynamic forwardthinking library professional who thrives in collaborative settings and is passionate about student success.
Physical Demands
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Typical office and library environment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed primarily in a library and academic environment. Some night and weekend hours required
Required Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS 1. Education and/or Experience Masters degree in library and information science from an ALA accredited program (required) Minimum of five years of progressive library leadership experience in an academic setting (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
1. Certificates Licenses Registrations Certified Public Library Administrator CPLA preferred
