Job Description
Summary: The Child Youth Support Needs (CYSN) Worker reports directly to the KFS Team Leader and is part of an interdisciplinary team in the northern Sttimc Territory. The CYSN program works with children/youth and their families who have a developmental disability or have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or are eligible for the AtHome Program to promote ageappropriate skills development.
Qualifications & Experience:
Strong interpersonal conflict resolution and communication skills.
Experience in coaching and instructing clients with disabilities.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Knowledge of community resources available to clients and their families and how to access them.
Knowledge and understanding of Sttimc culture.
Must be willing to submit to and clear a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Duties & Responsibilities
Ability to use tact and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
Provide direct goaloriented assistance to a child/youth and their family based on the service plan developed with the family and the CYSN Social Worker.
Work collaboratively with the
family to support its development of child management strategies parenting skills or other relevant skills.
Provide group and individual services.
Document each clientfamilys progress toward the goals described in the service plan.
