Blackstone is establishing a GCC in Bangalore expanding on the success of its current offshore center via Wipro in Delhi. The Finance Lead will be a core member of the BX GCC leadership team directly responsible for delivering services capability unity and consistency and ensuring that the organization is market leading and focused on service excellence.
The Finance Lead will be expected to operate at a highly strategic level partnering with and constructively challenging key stakeholders across the firm to design the optimum operating model for the finance organization with the GCC leading the implementation and capability of the agreed finance TOM and be accountable for creating and building the finance capability including ongoing capability to support future valueadded processes as the organization matures. As such the Finance Lead will have a true passion for process optimization and excellence and will bring the vision and skills to drive continuous improvements and standardization across this new team.
The Finance Lead will be able to navigate the challenges of operating within a highly regulated complex financial services environment. They will have the passion and vision to both improve and raise the profile of the finance delivery organization within BX GCC globally.
Responsibilities
Lead finance function within BX GCC including:
Responsible for the quality of day to day finance operational delivery including leadership of the GCC finance team as a critical delivery partner in and with the global finance function.
Spearhead the transformation of finance processes continuously improve productivity and efficiency by developing service metrics monitoring performance results and implementing appropriate actions in response.
In conjunction with global finance leadership deliver and maintain optimal global design standards for processes that are fit for business purpose and growth and are appropriately managed through governance forums.
Accountable for creating and executing strategic plans policies and process for delivering technical excellence by leveraging best practices.
Provide exceptional leadership to the finance team including rallying the team around the vision by making it real and tangible for them as well as driving a strong performance culture. Attract identify develop and retain talent to achieve greater strategic goals and performance.
Own the risk governance framework within area of responsibility through identifying assessing monitoring controlling and mitigating risk to the global finance function. Responsible for implementing and delivering effective governance for the finance areas of responsibility and ensuring effective integration within the firms overall governance oversight and controls. Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Essential Qualifications:
20 years of proven track record in finance leadership roles in an enterprise services / service center organization within companies of similar size scope and complexity preferably within alternative asset management broader financial services or professional services.
Proven experience of establishing and leading a cuttingedge finance CoE organization with a focus on stakeholder satisfaction and service excellence.
Demonstrable track record of leadership at scale including proven track record of delivering value to both top and bottom line through leading transformation reengineering simplification and automation initiatives.
Outstanding leadership and interpersonal qualities including the ability to inspire motivate and lead through effective transparent and adaptive communication; creates broad based alliances drives collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups; effective evangelist and partner with global stakeholders.
Proven track record of building and leading technically strong teams; transforming a delivery organization shifting the delivery model including adoption of agile delivery; ease with managing and developing talent in a competitive marketplace.
Results orientated and strategic including setting clear strategic goals for the organization empowering subordinates and motivating team to action; strong ability to develop talent and capability; track record of driving innovative solution ideas into actionable business solutions
Strong problem solving and analytical skills including ability to effectively address any issues in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems; ability to develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate.
Comfortable embracing complexity as well as tools to drive efficiency and scale operations.
Ability to work in a dynamic fastpaced environment.
Ability to exercise thought leadership across the team in terms of organization process and that balances both tactical and strategic solutions.
Versatile and driven team player with the ability to build rapport relationships and community within the team and crossfunctional partners. Demonstrated nimbleness and ability to adapt to changing priorities resource constraints and key deadlines.
