Overview
The Plant Tissue Culture (PTC) Executive plays a critical role in the biotech industry by developing and implementing tissue culture techniques for plant propagation. This position is vital for enhancing plant production efficiency and producing highquality diseasefree plants. The PTC Executive contributes to research and development efforts supporting various agricultural projects that require advanced biotechnological processes. As part of a dedicated team the individual is responsible for maintaining laboratory standards and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. This role demands a blend of technical expertise analytical skills and creativity to address challenges in plant tissue culture. The PTC Executive will also engage in documentation and reporting helping to synthesize research findings for further advancements in the biotech field. The position is based in Mumbai where the candidate will collaborate with leading scientists and contribute to innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize tissue culture methodologies for plant propagation.
- Conduct sterilization procedures to ensure contaminationfree cultures.
- Prepare culture media and maintain laboratory environments.
- Execute micropropagation techniques for various plant species.
- Monitor growth conditions in culture vessels and greenhouse settings.
- Document experimental procedures results and findings accurately.
- Analyze data obtained from tissue culture experiments.
- Collaborate with the research team to improve existing protocols.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and order as necessary.
- Train and supervise junior staff and interns in laboratory practices.
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards in the lab.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problemsolving plant culture issues.
- Participate in research projects and contribute to publications.
- Engage in continuous learning and stay updated with industry advancements.
- Provide support for conducting seminars and workshops on tissue culture.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in botany a related field.
- At least 23 years of handson experience in plant tissue culture.
- Strong understanding of plant biology and growth requirements.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and sterile techniques.
- Proficiency in preparing nutrient media and culture protocols.
- Experience in data collection and analysis methods.
- Knowledge of current research trends in plant biotechnology.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot laboratory procedures effectively.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends if needed.
- Certification in laboratory safety or related areas is a plus.
- Basic computer skills in data management and reporting software.
- Passion for research and innovation in plant sciences.
