CASE MANAGER/THERAPIST
Bsaanibamaadsiwin Indigenous Youth/EPI Worker
Job Status:Contract Until December 2025
Hours of work: 35 per week

Purpose of the Position:
The Case Manager/Therapist Indigenous Youth/EPI Worker is a vital member of the Parry Sound team dedicated to supporting Indigenous youth and their families through culturally sensitive mental health and wellness services. This role focuses on building strong trustbased relationships within the community and schools such as the Parry Sound High School to support youth at risk and coordinate care with faculty community leaders and mental health and addiction resources. While aspects of early psychosis intervention may be included this position centers on youthfocused outreach and culturally relevant support.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of two based in Parry Sound with comprehensive support from a separate EPI team in Muskoka and the larger regional program fostering a network of shared knowledge and resources.

Education and Qualifications:
For Case Manager Role:
- Bachelors degree in a human service/health science discipline or an equivalent combination of education and substantial relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in providing culturally sensitive case management services to youth and families.
- Knowledge and practical experience with mental health and addictions issues typically gained through at least one 1 year of direct work experience.
For Therapist Role:
- Masters level postsecondary degree in Psychology Social Work Psychiatric Nursing or a related field.
- Current registration with a professional regulatory body (e.g. College of Social Workers College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).
- Experience in delivering psychotherapy and therapeutic interventions for youth and families affected by mental health and substance use issues.
Qualifications for Both Roles:
- Comprehensive understanding of Indigenous cultures histories and practices with specific knowledge of the traditional territories within Muskoka and Parry Sound.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations is strongly preferred.
- Ability to integrate traditional and nontraditional healing practices collaborating with elders healers and other Indigenous knowledge keepers.
- Strong commitment to serving Indigenous youth in a culturally safe respectful manner.
- Proven experience in facilitating group and individual support both in person and virtually.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team particularly in rural settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Outlook and client information systems.
- Bilingualism in French is an asset.
- A valid Ontario G or G2 drivers license and access to reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work days evenings weekends and statutory holidays as needed
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally sensitive mental health and wellness support to Indigenous youth with a focus on education prevention and intervention.
- Engage and build relationships with youth and their families to provide holistic support and care.
- Develop and deliver culturally informed psychoeducational and support programs.
- Collaborate with schools community partners and service providers to enhance youth resources and services.
- Work closely with the Parry Sound team while receiving support and collaborating with the Muskoka EPI team and the broader regional program.
- Participate in planning and coordinating culturally relevant events and workshops
Salary scale:
Case Manager: $29.26 $38.32 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Therapist: $35.90 to $44.26 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Benefits: Optional enrolment in Registered Retirement Plan with HOOPP where contributions start on date of hire.
Both the Case Manager/Therapist and Nurse roles are integral parts of the Parry Sound team and benefit from support provided by the Muskoka EPI team and the regional program.
