Job Description

Job Summary
The Department of Criminal Justice at Radford University invites applications for a fulltime tenuretrack Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to begin in August 2022. Candidates should have demonstrated teaching and research experience in the area of diversity issues as related to the criminal justice system. The position requires teaching four undergraduate classes each semester with students from all class levels. Teaching assignments will include the required undergraduate course on diversity issues in criminal justice as well as other required or elective courses in the department. Our faculty engage in professional development and service to the Department College University and broader community. Departmental service includes academic advising and departmental committees.

Required Qualifications
A terminal doctoral degree is required in a field related to diversity issues in criminology or criminal justice; at least 18 hours of graduate credit in criminology or criminal justice are required. All candidates will be required to show significant evidence of successful teaching at the university level demonstrating a commitment to teaching excellence and utilization of innovative teaching strategies. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to establishing and building a scholarly research agenda. Professional activities are expected including research presentation and publication for academic or professional communities
