Step into Your New Role

As a Structural Department Manager you will be responsible for developing technical solutions for a wide range of projects through the application of engineering knowledge and skills to support permitting and compliance needs for a diverse client base.

This position is available in our Toledo OH and Columbus OH offices. Will consider some form of hybrid option for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of the structural engineering department in accordance with company policies.
  • Optimize staff scheduling by matching individual expertise to project needs achieving project deadlines maximizing department efficiency and fostering a culture of safety and quality.
  • Assist in preparing scope and fee proposals for the structural portion of projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as sitecivil mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Provide oversite of analysis and design of structural systems preparation of contract drawings and specifications and support during procurement and construction of projects.
  • Mentor the technical development of staff to encourage professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E. License registered in Ohio or ability to obtain within one year of start date.
  • 10 years of demonstratable design experience in the structural engineering field including experience in engineering analysis and drafting of water/wastewater treatment facilities and industrial facilities.
  • 34 years of project management experience.
  • Proven ability to design and detail complex structures.
  • Experience in the design of steel concrete timber coldformed steel and masonry.
  • Knowledge of structural finite element analysis (FEA) engineering applications such as RISA 3D RISA Floor and RISA Foundation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and work independently.
  • Willingness to travel to local project sites.
  • Valid drivers license with demonstrated safe driving practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in civil engineering.
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience using other FEA programs such as RISA Connection LPile. SAP2000 ETABS and RAM.
  • Proven ability to conduct structural inspections and condition assessments.
  • Competent in working at heights using ladders and fall protection.
