The Job Details are as follows:
The Director Research Library Partnerships program is responsible for managing the business plan and engagement strategy for the OCLC Research Library Partnership a network of 120 duespaying libraries. This role also contributes to strategy development for the Research and Programming organization in collaboration with leaders of the Research team and WebJunction program.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversight and responsibility for planning budgeting activities and staff of the Research Library Partnership program.
- Working closely with Global Product Marketing Global Technology and Corporate Marketing develops engagement strategy manages the work and is responsible for the effective and efficient operations of Metadata Engagement portfolio.
- In consultation with organizational stakeholders and MRD leadership team develops strategies manages the work.
- Coordinating with GPM and Sales develops strategies for effective member outreach and engagement through the various OCLC virtual engagement platforms member visits member updates and presentations.
- Work closely with the division leadership team to align priorities support engagement and outreach and provide insights into community/membership community/member communications community/member feedback and needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- A masters degree in library and information science and/or equivalent experience as a professional in an academic (preferably research) library setting.
- 10 years of management and/or supervisory experience.
- Excellent business management skills including budgeting revenue planning win/loss analysis and cost containment strategies.
- Community leadership demonstrated knowledge understanding of trends issues direction and opportunities within higher education scholarly communication and the roles or potential roles of the library within these contexts.
- Experience with engaging communities marketing/outreach meeting planning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience presenting and influencing senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Ability to apply strategic thinking and planning to a complex program; set goals and design initiatives; align project resources to desired results.
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional and careerbased expertise in higher education with a special emphasis on research libraries; preferably at a senior level.
- Visibility within the (research) library community. Industry knowledge demonstrated awareness of the library industry of research and of scholarly communication Membership Understanding of value of membership member experience member needs.
- Ability to develop relationships with members as a trusted partner build community and think strategically about member recruitment retention and satisfaction and alignment where feasible across segments and OCLC service areas.
- Experience in developing successful grants and/or funding proposals.
- Understanding of financial models for membership costs/benefits/value/deliverables.
- Experience in developing successful grants and/or funding proposals
- Effective people and resource manager building a team that functions well together and delivers results.
- Experience with project management leading advisory groups and managing volunteers
