Job Details:

Under the direction of the Dean of the School of Medicine and reporting to the Executive Director of the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center the Director of Rural Pediatric Programs will undertake the supervision of the rural hospital support rural pediatrician support behavioral & mental health support and rural pediatrician pipeline support pilots and programs. The incumbent will also develop and lead special events assigned by the Dean and works collaboratively with relevant external stakeholders Mercer University MUSM departments and the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center to appropriately plan implement and evaluate projects including supervision of the Rural Telehealth Project Manager. They will then provide regular updates and reports to the MUSM Dean Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center and Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta partners.


Responsibilities:

  • Administrative and reporting duties for the rural pediatric pilots and projects under supervision. Rural Hospital Support Rural Pediatrician Support Behavioral & Mental Health Support and Rural Pediatrician Pipeline Support. Supervision of the Rural Telehealth Project Manager..

  • Oversee and collaborate with the Georgia Rural Health Innovation
    Center regarding the work of the pilots for the Rural Hospital Support Program.

  • Oversee and collaborate with the Georgia Rural Health Innovation
    Center regarding the work of the pilots for the Rural Pediatrician
    Support Program

  • Oversee and collaborate with the Georgia Rural Health Innovation
    Center regarding the work of the pilots for the Behavioral & Mental
    Health Support Programs.

  • Oversee and collaborate with the Mercer University School of
    Medicine regarding the scholarship program for the Rural Pediatrician Pipeline Support Program.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Mercer University School of Medicine

Qualifications:

A bachelors degree from an accredited institution and five years of project management/project coordination and/or clinical experience or a masters degree and two years of the above described experience are required.

Candidates must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the universitys carrier as this position requires some travel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must uphold the highest level of professionalism be able to communicate (verbal and written) with many organizations both internal and external to the university. Effective communication with students faculty staff administrators providers community members and external organizations is essential to success. Anticipate recurrent travel into rural communities to collaborate on projects.

  • Knowledge of project management and clinical medicine is preferred.

  • Highly organized with the ability to work with multiple teams and to manage multiple parallel projects with tight deadlines. Includes developing project budgets and tracking expenses vendor sourcing and general management and communications.

  • Excellent analytical and independent problemsolving skills organizational coordination and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to produce detailoriented and accurate documents reports and announcements. Knowledge of the health industry organizational structure medical terminology and information technology.

  • Ability to assemble highly confidential/sensitive information and maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to work effectively with all team members stakeholders and subject matter experts to analyze design develop and operationalize recommendations to improve customer service models.

  • Ability to define priorities multitask and work independently.

  • Excellent skills in Outlook including use of calendaring functions other Microsoft Office products (Word Excel Access PowerPoint Publisher) Ability to learn new systems with ease.

  • Confidentiality negotiation and conflict resolution skills are necessary to maintain good working relationships with various outside organization.
