Job Description
Technical writing with Markdown AsciiDoc or other documentation formats 3 years of experience in technical writing software documentation or developer content creation Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear concise and engaging manner Experience documenting platform engineering cloud services DevOps or CI CD pipelines Familiarity with Markdown AsciiDoc or other documentation formats Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work with engineers product managers and stakeholdersPreferred Exposure to AWS Kubernetes K8s and GitLab CI CD Experience with Infrastructure as Code IaC tools such as Pulumi or Terraform Basic knowledge of programming languages such as TypeScript or Python Experience with internal developer portals or platform documentation toolsAs a Technical Writer you will collaborate closely with platform engineers SREs and developer experience teams to create high quality documentation that enhances developer onboarding troubleshooting and overall platform usability Your work will ensure that engineers across BT can efficiently leverage platform tools CI CD pipelines and infrastructure as code solutions This role is ideal for someone with a passion for simplifying complex technical concepts writing clear and engaging documentation and improving developer productivity through well structured knowledge sharingKey ResponsibilitiesDocumentation Content Creation Write edit and maintain technical documentation including Platform user guides and API documentation Infrastructure as Code IaC best practices CI CD workflows and deployment guides Incident management and operational playbooks Troubleshooting and debugging manuals Ensure all documentation is accurate up to date and accessible to engineering teams Develop visual aids such as diagrams and flowcharts to enhance comprehension Create knowledge base articles FAQs and onboarding materials for new engineersCollaboration Research Work closely with platform engineers SREs and developer experience teams to understand technical concepts and translate them into user friendly documentation Participate in team meetings and sprint planning to stay aligned with platform updates Gather feedback from developers to improve documentation clarity and usefulnessProcess Documentation Standards Define and maintain a consistent documentation structure and style guide Establish documentation review workflows to ensure accuracy and completeness Promote best practices for internal and external documentation
