Job Description

The Manager Planning Insights role is accountable for driving data and information driven decision making and innovation for Jetstar Operations as it applies to pilot and cabin crew resources. The role leads a team that is responsible for resource planning including the forecasting of labour requirements across different time horizons and the development and use of crew resource models.

The role is responsible for the development and implementation of AI and data science strategies to enhance workforce planning operations and to solve critical business challenges. In addition the role is also accountable for supporting the endtoend resource planning process including systems tools and methodology.

 

The core responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Lead the resource planning and deployment support function.
  • Drive innovation by leveraging advanced analytics and AI technologies to optimize resource allocation improve efficiency and support datadriven decisionmaking processes.
  • Oversee the development and use of crew resource models. This includes scenario modelling forecasting reporting and the coordination of key inputs and assumptions into the monthly and seasonal planning processes.
  • Oversee the administration of Flight and Cabin Crew leave draws and roster preferencing including the support of relevant systems and processes
  • Maximise the use of workforce planning tools systems and methodology and support the change process
  • Build effective and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders. Work with crossfunctional teams to develop a deep understanding of challenges and improvement opportunities
  • Ensure key stakeholders are informed and updated on all relevant crew resource related topics
  • Present insights and recommendations in a compelling and accessible manner that tailors to diverse audiences
  • Lead the Insights team to ensure delivery of departmental and organisational objectives. Carry out performance management cycle commitments within the People Guidelines. Role model business principles and values and drive high performance engagement through effective coaching mentoring and employee development

 

To be considered key skills will include:

  • Demonstrated people management and leadership skills including coaching mentoring and development of direct reports
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the design and development of business intelligence reporting solutions
  • Highly developed conceptual analytical business acumen and strategic planning skills
  • Strong knowledge of advanced analytical and statistical techniques including modelling ML and AI.
  • Proven ability to work with large data sets and to apply data handling and analysis best practice
  • Previous experience in data visualisation including the advanced use of PowerBI or similar tools
  • Results focussed and team oriented. Ability to selfmanage to achieve high levels of accuracy productivity and efficiency
  • Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure with competing priorities.
  • Experience developing fostering and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Strong negotiation communication problem solving and influencing skills
  • Business or Aviation Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with in Airline Operations desirable but not essential
