The role of this Personal CareAssistant

Our personal care assistantsjoin our clients support team providing reliable essential care and supportin their home. You will be employed byHomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support themonly. This role will be to cover 48hrs aweek as either one fulltime post or two parttime posts.


Pay rates are broken down asfollows:

Monday to Friday 08:00 20:00 13.50 per hour

Monday to Friday 20:00 08:00 14.50 per hour (waking nights)

Weekends 14:50 per hour

All training and supervisionsare paid at 11.44 per hour



About the Client and Duties

You will be providing complexcare support as needed for our professionally and socially active creativeclient to maintain independence by assisting and facilitating our clientshealth care personal social professional educational and voluntary goals.


Essentially the role requiresyou to respect our clients autonomy and support him in performing tasks hewould perform himself if he were nondisabled as well as provide all careneeds including personal care.


You will maintain and promotethe safety of our client both at home and whilst undertaking personal socialprofessional and voluntary activities.



Requirements

Typical duties will include:

  • To provide all care needsincluding personal care
  • To provide medication andequipment to our client as needed
  • To assist our client as neededgetting to and from appointments
    To maintain areas of our clients home and vehicle to an acceptable level ofcleanliness
  • To check stock supplies andmaintain adequate stock levels
  • To maintain and organise ourclients clothing belongings and equipment to his wishes whilst being carefuland respectful
  • To ensure our clientsholistic wellbeing is supported at all times as needed

This role requires careskills empathy patience and the ability to work under your own initiativewhist maintaining confidentiality and without hindering or interfering theclients wishes and activities.



Training and Support:

We provide comprehensive paidtraining to CQC standards covering:

  • Full induction
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • Health & Safety / FirstAid / Food Hygiene
  • Moving & Handling withHoist / Appliance Aid
  • Medication / Ventilation Use /Nebuliser / Oral Suction
  • Personal Care / GastrostomyCare / Muscular Dystrophy

All training must be completedbefore the start date with training hours paid at minimum wage



Requirements:

  • This post is exempt under The Equality Act 2010Schedule 9 Part 1 there is genuine occupational requirement to recruitmalesupportworkers only
  • Driver with a full clean UK driving licence
  • Previous care experience preferably supporting people withphysical disabilities Gastrostomy care ventilation and moving & handling
  • You should work well as part of a team be supportive kind beable to follow instructions and policies be organised and honest
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ok working around cats
  • Commitment to longtermpersoncentred care
  • You must be reliablecompassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality
