You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR (BCL) and BC Cannabis Stores (BCCS). The Operations division of the LDB is accountable for the leadership and strategic direction of the British Columbia beverage alcohol and cannabis supply and distribution of product through a resilient and responsive supply chain. The LDB also operates retail stores through the brands of BCL and BCCS driving profitability through marketing merchandising and store operations.
The Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) & Chief Operating Officer (COO) leads three main business areas: liquor retail liquor wholesale and cannabis (both retail and wholesale). Each division has its own leadership and strategic goals aimed at profitability and operational success. The ADM & COO oversees these divisions directing key programs and operations functions.
The ADM & COO provides overall vision and leadership for the operations of LDBs revenuegenerating sectors. The ADM & COO focuses on operational priorities working on the development and improvement of programs to increase revenue and profitability. The ADM & COO provides progress updates manages the annual budget and leads divisions to meet business goals. This role also ensures that LDBs operations are changeready exploring service delivery methods and business continuity plans.
The ideal candidate for this role will have significant seniorlevel or executive leadership experience spanning strategic planning complex operations budget and financial management performance management change leadership and succession planning. This candidate will put their substantial business acumen to work while balancing the goals and reputation of the provincial government with the needs of interest holders. They will be diplomatic and trustworthy modeling integrity while navigating complex and sometimes controversial issues. Strong communication negotiation and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.
