General Position Description: Responsible for providing crisis intervention assessment counseling and behavioral health support to members.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides behavioral health support to members and families in crisis and postcrisis. Facilitates connecting member to their appropriate clinical team member.
  • Deescalates crisis situations and assesses for danger to self and danger for others.
  • Assesses and provides crisis intervention services to members and their families. Documents all interactions in members individual charts. Continues the assessment process throughout the behavioral health process including the continued identification of the child and family strengths needs and culture and monitors progress toward treatment goals.
  • Completes screeners assessments crisis plans intake paperwork and other paperwork needed to stabilize a crisis or enroll a new member.
  • Coordinates care with members clinical team and conducts CFTs and ARTs to ensure member has appropriate services for their clinical needs. Coordinates care with inpatient hospitals emergency room departments crisis centers residential treatment facilities and other placements as necessary. Arranges hospital discharge appointments.
  • Responds to requests for documentation or information about a member from community providers hospitals or Crisis Response Center (CRC).
  • Completes enrollment and crisis planning with Hospitals and CRC when an urgent enrollment is needed.
  • Works with families and children that require a high level of service provision contact and coordination of treatment.
  • Works collaboratively with other systems such as Juvenile/Adult Detention Juvenile/Adult Probation Division of Disabilities Department of Child Safety/Adult Protective Services and other Behavioral Health entities.
  • Provides individual family and/or group counseling based on needs as determined by the Clinical Supervisor/Director.
  • Participates in the process of ongoing professional development and meetings. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency members and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct Strategic Plan Mission and Vision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of behavioral health or related work/volunteer experience required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.


Regulatory

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current unrestricted AZ drivers license with no more than two 2 minor moving violations or one 1 accident within the past three 3 years). Three 3 years of driving experience required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (Employer provides).
  • Satisfactorily Completed Competency Checklist within 6 months of hire.


Skills/Job Knowledge/Abilities: Training and experience in crisis intervention and deescalation techniques. Knowledge in child development and human development across the life span. Knowledge of adult child and infant mental health principles methods procedures and standards. Has strong clinical knowledge. Able to utilize DSM5TR to diagnose older children adolescents and adults and the crosswalk to the DC05 to provide diagnoses or diagnostic impressions for young children. Extensive knowledge of managed care systems AHCCCS/Title XIX medical assistance screening and health plan policies and practices. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Detailoriented with welldeveloped problemsolving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational time management project management and multitasking skills. Skill in using business software such as email MS Office smartphones office equipment and electronic health records. Flexibility and ability to respond to changing priorities. Must be reliable and punctual. Displays cultural sensitivity and demonstrates the ability to form constructive and collaborative working relationships with others from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to communicate in a culturally inclusive manner and be open to other peoples differences. Maintains a professional in appearance communications and actions. Able to establish and maintain a team atmosphere of communication and collaboration for all that reach out to the Department.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation): Normal office environment with multiple interruptions in person and through computer and phone. Field position visiting different sites or homes for member care. Will work outside and inside environments as needed. Daily travel to member homes and other locations. Interacts with employees and members of the public on a daily basis. Able to lift up to 50lbs to support member care. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens and forms and assess members wellbeing. Able to communicate verbally with members and emergency personnel as needed for daily operations. Hearing ability for communication in persona phone and/or other electronic methods. Manual dexterity for typing and writing. Able to stoop squat reach pull push stretch ascend and descend stairs stand and sit for long periods of time. Weekend and later hours are required. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances.
