The primary function of this position is to provide socio-emotional support to individual students and to work in collaboration with adjustment counselors teachers and school administrators to develop strategies routines and structures to reduce problematic behaviors. Qualifications:Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferredExperience working with students who present with behavioral and social/emotional challenges in a school settingPreference given to applicants that work in the Social Work fieldExcellent organizational skills and communication skillsResponsibilitiesProvide socio-emotional support to students who have been identified as exhibiting problematic behaviors in the classroom settingWork in collaboration with building SACs to develop targeted strategies to reduce problematic behaviorsWork in collaboration with SACs teachers parents and school administrators to develop and implement plans for improving behaviorsProvide ongoing assessment of progressWork directly with classroom staff to implement behavioral support plansMaintain a log of students receiving Behavior Interventionist supportMaintain up to date data on individual students Participate in staff trainings related to PBIS Restorative Justice Safety Care and any other training deemed appropriate by building observations and incidents with appropriate personnel (SACs/building administrators)All other duties as determined by the building administratorsCompensation: One to one contract up to $58000/yearly depending on experience.
