Job Description

  • Interventionist
Summary:
  • To support the Schools rapid acceleration of student achievement by providing educational interventions and progress monitoring for students.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with individual students or small groups of students to provide educational interventions and progress monitoring.
  • Work with school personnel by assisting in determining Intervention Plan and Individualized Education Program services when appropriate.
  • Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to ensure process fidelity.
  • Attend team/parent meetings as requested; provide input to teams regarding student academic strengths and weaknesses.
  • Provide high quality Tier 2 support to students who are at-risk in reading writing and/or mathematics.
  • Use identified scientific research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties.
  • .Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions.
  • Provide the high-quality instruction time needed to move students to grade level proficiency.
  • Support school-wide assessments and assist with the analysis of the data to identify students in need of intervention services.
  • Provide data to the school teams and participate in decisions about student progress.
  • Utilize tracking system to maintain lists of students participating in interventions.
  • Attend training and professional development as assigned by the Principal.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Principal.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Education or related field.
  • Massachusetts Teachers License Elementary 1-6 and/or Special Education PK-8.
  • Training and experience with Wilson Orton Gillingham or other formal reading intervention program preferred.
  • SEI endorsement or willingness to participate in SEI endorsement course.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to participate in trainings for evidence-based interventions and data analysis.
Terms of Employment:
  • Reports to: School Principal
  • Rate: In accordance with the Unit A contract found here
