Job Summary
This position serves as the primary point of public contact for visitors to the RU Police Department. Coordinates law enforcement communications for police fire and emergency responders answers emergency calls for assistance monitors building alarm system dispatches police officers and coordinates fire and EMS personnel as well. This position also issues temporary parking permits to campus visitors and actively participates in meeting the department wide VLEPSC accreditation goals.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to make sound independent decisions and multitask in a highvolume fastpaced stressful environment. Demonstrated computer proficiency and experience with general office practices procedures and equipment. Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to relate well with diverse populations in difficult/stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications
DCJS dispatcher VCIN Operator and/or NCIC certification. Experience conducting emergency communication over police radio system. Experience working in higher education.
