Job Summary

The Merchandiser contributes to the branch office by optimizing branch sales and profits by ensuring that customers stores are stocked with the right products. They are responsible for delivering merchandise to the store stocking shelves arranging and maintaining product displays and monitoring the store inventory. The Merchandiser will cultivate new and engaging ways to display and find the best spots to place products that will make them more appealing to customers.

Reports To (Job Title): supervisor or manager

Essential Job Functions

Merchandiser store shelves. Maintain store shelves to standards of client and customers.
Check shelves and backrooms for overstock proper product rotations and dates.
Maintain regular contact with existing customers to field problems concerns and complaints resolving customerrelated issues.
Delivery & pick up products and equipment when necessary.
Keep informed of new products and other general information.
Package finished product for shipping (Shrink wrapping boxing labeling).
Stages finished product for loading.
Check purchase orders/ work orders to ensure that products are correctly assembled and ready for delivery.
Check items to ensure that the correct number of products are being assembled.
Unload products from trucks and containers and stock them in the designated area.
Responsible for quality control. Ensure that no damaged products are sent out and no damaged products will be stored.
Operate within standard operating procedures
Operate with the forklift and/or palette jacks.
Handle inventory movement into and out of controlled locations
Provide fillin support for other departments in the warehouse
Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
Min/Preferred Education Level Description
Minimum High School or GED

Knowledge Skills and Ability
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints.
Principles practices and procedures of retail food operation.
Working knowledge of the grocery business.
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Ability to read speak and write in English.
Ability to correctly follow a given rule or set of rules in order to arrange things or actions in a certain order.
Ability to communicate and interact with other effects in a professional and flexible manner.
Require considerable and strenuous physical exertion so incumbents should be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
Available to work extended hours.

Other Working Conditions

Merchandisers will spend time in the refrigerated (Cooler and Freezer) section of the warehouse or customers location. The merchandiser will work offsite and must be able to travel to various customer locations. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including but not limited to work
boots. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (standard 40 hours per week); however evening night shift overtime and weekend hours are common in some branch offices.
