In this job as a Retail Customer Service Supervisor you will be part of a large team and will work in hand with the senior management team learning the procedures and standards in customer service and how to achieve commercial goals whilst demonstrating strong leadership among colleagues within your department. We are looking to speak to an experienced person who has previously managed in a large big box retail environment ideally trained in the customer service area and is accustomed to working in a fast paced customer facing environment. This job will see you responsible for delegating work among a large team of up to 20 people training performance management problemsolving rostering and motivating the team.

There is some exposure to other areas of the store as Supervisors usually gain experience in shop minding and assisting in other departments as well.

Responsibilities for this Retail Supermarket Supervisor Job:

• Overall management of a busy checkout department.
  
• Supervision of a team of up to ten people when on duty.
  
• Rostering for a team of up to 20 staff plus.
  
• Queue management.
  
• Ensuring all staff have the tools required to complete their role.
  
• Covering the customer service desk by assisting customers with questions/queries.
  
• Staff training and development.
  
• Assisting the shop managers in other areas of the store if/when required.
  

The ideal candidate for this Retail Supermarket Supervisor Job:

• Have strong attention to detail
  
• Strong people management skills capable of managing a diverse team with different needs
  
• Big box retail Grocery or previous customer service Supervisor or management is essential
  
• Excellent organisational skills
  
• Be able to work within a team and on your own initiative.
  
• Flexible to work different shifts mornings and evenings weekends.
