Role: Keyworker rehabilitation.

Location: Based in the Yorkshire region (Ideally Leeds) with potential for national travel. Head office based in Preston Lancashire. Will also be required to work in custodial settings such as prisons.

Salary: Up to 29500 depending on experience plus a car allowance (Driving licence and car essential)

About the company

Our client is a national leader in the criminal justice sector delivering rehabilitation and residential programmes to reduce reoffending and homelessness. They work with individuals with histories of offending substance misuse mental illness homelessness and longterm unemployment. They deliver structured supportive programmes to allow participants to overcome personal problems and develop skills confidence and resilience to move into work and stable housing. They also run a community caf in Preston. They are responsible for operating a Food Distribution Regional Centre for Lancashire and Cumbria redistributing surplus food to communities in need throughout the region.

The Role: To engage and casemanage participants their various Rehabilitation Programmes. Providing support such as advocacy mentoring training advice and guidance to meet the needs of participants and help them to progress into training accommodation and sustained employment and ultimately to reduce the likelihood of reoffending. To assist in the engagement of and to help generate links with housing providers support services and further employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The effective management of a diverse case load of programme participants in custody and community settings
  • Building relationships with programme participants RLSE team members and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • Identify employability needs and consult with the participant to agree and implement action plans
  • Identify coordinate and arrange suitable accommodation relevant to the needs of the participant
  • Providing appropriate information advice and guidance in areas including but not limited to housing and employment
  • Providing employability training including CV writing interview training and job search guidance
  • Support participants via effective signposting both internally and externally for further support where appropriate
  • Work with the wider team and provide crossover cover where necessary
  • Keep accurate records
  • Manage data securely and in line with legal and system requirements
  • Enable programme participants to access and use information e.g. email and other online services
  • Accurately record and update information on bespoke software such as Salesforce
  • Find ways to continuously improve both the service and your own performance
  • Any other duties required by senior management

Person Specification:

Essential

  • Driving Licence and own car
  • Excellent communication and people management skills including the ability to motivate and empower others
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A keen social conscience and a desire to go the extra mile to help those in need
  • Confidence resilience and flexibility
  • Fluent user of ICT and the ability to work with new software as required
  • Working knowledge of the employability and housing sectors
  • Working knowledge of the justice sector including offending behaviours and offender management
  • Working knowledge of healthrelated matters including substance misuse and mental health
  • Knowledge of the support agencies that can assist individuals with complex needs (e.g. debt substance misuse housing etc.)
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • Flexible approach to work including willingness to travel and occasionally unsociable hours.
  • Ability to adapt within a fastpaced everchanging work environment
  • Ability to prioritise and organise your workload effectively
  • The ability to maintain accurate records

Desirable

  • Relevant qualifications
  • Indate prison (NOMS) vetting
  • Experience in managing a caseload of participants with complex needs
  • Knowledge of the issues affecting individuals with multiple barriers to progressing to sustained employment
