Title Examiner - US Mortgage

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed title examinations and research to verify the propertys ownership history and legal status
• Review and analyze title reports surveys and plats to identify any outstanding liens encumbrances or defects
• Interpret complex legal descriptions and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies
• Communicate with lenders attorneys and other stakeholders to coordinate title curative actions
• Prepare accurate and comprehensive title commitment and final policy documents
• Remain updated on local state and federal regulations related to title insurance and mortgage lending
• Coordinate with underwriters to address any titlerelated concerns and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines
• Assist in resolving title defects boundary disputes and other issues impacting property ownership
• Provide guidance and support to junior title examiners and maintain quality control standards
• Attend closings and provide necessary documentation to facilitate the transfer of property ownership

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Real Estate Business or related field
• 2 years of experience in title examination preferably in the mortgage industry
• Proficient in conducting title research and using title examination software
• Strong knowledge of real estate laws procedures and regulations
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
• Detailoriented with the ability to identify and address complex title issues
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
• Familiarity with title insurance policies and endorsements
• Professional certification in title examination or related field is a plus
