Are you a proactive passionate about food safety and high quality food products Do you have handson experience in food processing facilities If so The Seaweed Company invites you to join our team as Quality Intern at the beautiful Downings area of County Donegal Ireland. This role will require onsite working at our processing facility in Downings Co. Donegal.

Tasks

As the Quality Intern you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality dried seaweed product and food safety standards are adhered to. You will be reporting to the Facility manager and Quality manager. Your responsibilities will include:

• Implement quality systems as required and updating quality manuals in line with audit requirements
• Inputting and processing data and lab results
• Implement a swabbing and sampling plan for microbial tests
• Writing a cleaning Standard Operational Procedure for the processing facility
• Ensuring adequate Personal Protective Equipment present

Requirements

Skills:

• Communication skills: Ability to communicate plans and projects to the team
• Team orientated: ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of EU food safety legislation and organic standards
• Knowledge of supply chain batches product recall traceability
• Excel skills
• Practical and flexible
• Highly organized

Qualifications:

• A degree in Food Science/General Science or relevant professional experience
• HACCP training
