Job Description:
- The Transformer Design Engineer is responsible to support design efforts of new transformers and magnetic devices under the guidance of peers.
- Will work directly with engineering, production, and other departments to maintain product flow and positive customer relations.
- Will also work with engineering staff to develop performance estimates and create product documentation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Reading and understanding customer specifications and how their impact on a design
- Interfacing with drafting to develop documentation packages to be used for production builds and creating test procedures
- Aiding production in troubleshooting both new and legacy transformer product builds
- With mentorship will support magnetic design efforts, understanding core selection, winding methods, insulation systems, calculate performance estimate
- Work with mechanical engineers and peers to develop design reports, design review packages.
- Support design studies for novel transformer design concepts for high power density applications
- Support test department for new projects.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with an internship working on magnetic devices or power electronics is required.
- Exposure to inductors and transformers or MILSPEC products is preferred. Knowledge of Excel, FEA methods, 3D modeling, Matlab or equivalent software required.
- Must have the ability to work in high pace environment and strong writing skills.

- Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with an internship working on magnetic devices or power electronics is required.
- Requires US citizenship and ability to obtain US Security clearance.
- Exposure to inductors and transformers or MILSPEC products is preferred. Knowledge of Excel, FEA methods, 3D modeling, Matlab or equivalent software required.

Education And/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in related field required with 8 years of relevant work experience preferred. Required Skills: Design: Digital & Analog design, Schematic Capture, PCB Layout, HART, Li-Ion Batteries, Foundation Fieldbus (preferred), and Wireless Design (preferred). Regulatory Compliance: Intrinsic Safety (UL/IEC/EN 60079-11), UL, CSA, IEC, CE, RoHS, WEEE, REACH, FCC, HART, and Foundation Fieldbus. Development Environments: Altium Designer, PSIPICE, AutoCAD, Or CAD. Processors & Microcontrollers: ARM, NXP i.MX, Texas Instruments MSP430, FPGA (preferred). Operating Systems: FreeRTOS, Linux (Yocto Project) (preferred). Programming Languages: C, C++, and ASM. Tools: Hand tools, Soldering Rework Station, Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Power Supply, Function Generators.
