We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to join the Infrastructure Platform services department-specific PMO of our prestigious Randstad Digital client. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the successful execution of complex senior-level programs and projects, which often involve multiple departments at Amtrak and various external vendors and subcontractors. Utilizing established project management tools, methodologies, and processes, you will ensure projects remain on budget and on schedule, all the way through hardware and software implementation and rollout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct technical leads and other project team members, as well as consultants and contractors.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary project documents, including Project Charters, Project Management Plans, Requirements documents, Design documents, Input to architecture documents, Test Plans, Test results, Implementation Plans, Post Implementation and Lessons Learned documents, Project schedules and budgets, and Resource management plans.
  • Produce weekly program status reports for each program and conduct project status and other meetings as necessary.
  • Manage project schedules using MS Enterprise Project Management (EPM) and MS Project Professional 2010.
  • Report schedule and budget variances.
  • Create and maintain SharePoint project sites within the EPM system.
  • Ensure the quality and maintenance of project schedules, baselines, and estimates, and report variances.
  • Report on risks and provide ongoing risk management plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Report on ongoing issues and changes using existing processes and templates and publish reports within program/projects.
  • Create and publish weekly status reports of activities, accomplishments, issues, and action plans to resolve issues.
  • Identify and ensure all activities required to meet the operational readiness review are completed on time.
  • Create Statements of Work (SOW) for Requests for Proposal (RFP) and evaluate vendor responses. Verify the creation of all required documents from vendors, as outlined in the SOW, or create new ones as needed.
  • Provide SOW for ongoing support services as necessary.
  • Evaluate criteria for product and proposal analysis.

Deliverables:

  • Deliver programs and projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Present projects at Quality Checkpoints and Department Level Project Reviews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, and education.
  • At least seven years of experience with significant hands-on Program and Project management experience from project initiation to implementation using formal project management methodologies and processes.
  • At least seven years of experience in technology management, analysis, and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, with a willingness and capability to express and protect departmental interests.
  • Demonstrated experience working on infrastructure projects.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and writing skills, with the ability to tailor messages to the receiving audience.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Project Office Professional, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project Server (EPM), Primavera, etc.

Preferred:

  • At least four years of experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project Server (EPM), etc.
  • PMP Certified.
